I would like to dedicate this post to pops of color. I am typically one to reach for the basic neutral tones in my closet, as many of us do. Yes, they are flattering, the simplicity of black t-shirts or white tanks can mix and match with pretty much anything and it is just easy. After moving to Tucson, Arizona, my outlook on color changed completely. With the environment appearing to be 50 shades of brown, I have learned to embrace a pop of color in my wardrobe.
Based on the undertones of your skin there are tricks to incorporating the most flattering colors into your closet to help you stand out from the crowd.
The first step to determining these ideal color choices is to figure out the undertones of your skin. There are neutral, warm, and cool skin tones. If you have ashen or gray hues to your skin, this means you have a neutral skin tone. If you are looking to add a pop of color to your wardrobe try reaching for bright reds and most every jewel tone. These tones add depth and pair well with neutral skin undertones. If you have greenish, yellowish or peachy undertones, reach for colors on the warmer side such as coral and olive green that compliment the warmth of your skin tone. Finally, if you have purple and blue undertones, it would be ideally paired with pieces that are cooler colored such as navy blue, royal purple, and hot pink.
These helpful hints can ultimately help you liven up your wardrobe with the knowledge of which colors would work best for you individually!
